Ferrari’s replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano is just around the corner--it's due out at next month’s 2012 Geneva Motor Show in fact--and now details of a possible new name for the car have emerged.

Ferrari’s new grand tourer is reported to be called the F620, with the “620” figure signifying the 6,262 cubic centimeters of the V-12 engine that will be powering it.

The information was revealed by Germany’s AutoBild, which has also produced a computer-generated image hinting at the new car’s design.

The V-12 engine, incidentally, will be a variation of the unit found in the recently-launched Ferrari FF. However, while the FF gets 651 horsepower and 504 pound-feet of torque from its version of the V-12, the new F620 is expected to deliver an even 700 horsepower. You’ll notice that the 700 horsepower figure just exceeds the 691 horsepower of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

Matched to this engine will be a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending drive strictly to the rear wheels, and aluminum will remain largely in the car’s construction as full carbon fiber has been ruled out due to economic constraints. There will still be plenty of innovative lightweight construction techniques and you can bet some carbon fiber will still be used for many of the car’s components.
