The term “iconic” is thrown around a lot when describing the 911 but few others cars can lay claim to being consistently recognizable for a span of more than half a century.
Yes, the 911 has retained its shape and unique engine layout over the years and no other car better represents an automaker like the 911 does.
As Porsche explains it, “Our identity is the 911.”
Instantly recognizable and originally engineered for the track, the 911 continues to stir the emotions today, just as it did in 1963. However, that doesn’t mean the car hasn’t had its fair share of critics over the years, most of them complaining about a lack of imagination among Porsche’s design team.
In response, Porsche has released this new video which uses emotional language to explain why the automaker has taken the evolutionary design path for its 911--Identity.
